Edward Dale Curry III, of Roanoke Rapids died Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

Edward was a native of Wheeling, WV, the son of the late Edward Dale Curry, Jr. and Mary Eleanor Bertschy Curry. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Andrew Curry. Edward was an avid supporter of the Roanoke Rapids Yellow Jackets and the West Virginia Mountaineers. He enjoyed birdwatching, model trains, and loved to travel.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Janet Reed Curry; his daughter, Kim C. White and her husband, David, of Roanoke Rapids; two sons, Kevin Curry and his wife, Tammy, of Burlington, and Kerry Curry and his wife, Denise, of Graham, NC; four grandchildren, Ashly White, Tyler White, Stephanie Curry, and Natalie Curry; and one brother, Robert L. Curry, of Windom, Minn.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 2, at the home of his daughter, Kim, at 814 W. 3rd Street, Roanoke Rapids, NC. A private graveside service will be held on Sunday, December 5, at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids. Bishop Franklin Jones will be officiating.
